The elongated and very wide muzzle of the shorthaired pointer tapers smoothly towards the nose. More pointed in bitches, while males are more humped. The stop is smoothed; the nose protrudes slightly. Its lobe is colored brown, black (in black-roan or black individuals), or beige (in white dogs). Marble pigmentation is also acceptable. The lips are loose, but create a crease at the corners of the mouth.
