When it comes to obedience, greyhounds are elite learners who quickly become bored with repetitive, apparently meaningless activities, and can be very stubborn if not motivated. For example, food rewards or “bullying” may work well for some people, but not quite for others. However, greyhounds are definitely capable of having fun and performing well in obedience and agility competitions when properly trained. Like other greyhounds, they are very sensitive and do not tolerate harsh treatment or punishment-based training, and will be extremely unhappy if raised voices and threats become a part of their daily life.
