The standard recognizes the monochromatic (red-brown, Muruga-red) and black and tan color of the breed. Ideal if the tan marks are extremely rich in color and distinct shape. The tan spots are distributed in this way: under the tail, on the inside of the hind limbs, on the pasterns and paws, in the throat zone, above the inner corners of the eyes.
