The jaws of the American Bulldog are quite wide. In this case, the lower one is slightly pushed forward beyond the upper line, forming the so-called dense undershot or undershot with a retreat. Note that in both cases the teeth should not be visible if the mouth is closed. The canines are set wide apart in the jaw, while the incisors form a straight line. The first two premolars may be missing.
