The historically known fact of resettlement in 1652 to the Cape of Good Hope of a certain Mr. J.V. Roebuck, who brought a Great Dane dog and an Old English Mastiff to the island to protect his family. So the dispersal of this breed and its formation went on, in which natural selection played the main role. The healthiest and strongest individuals survived, the most intelligent, and adapted to the difficult conditions and requirements that man created and presented to them.
