The first Cairn Terriers were imported into the United States by Mrs. Henry F. Price and Mrs. Byron Rogers in 1913. In both the United States and England, the Cairne and West Highland White interbred until 1917, when the American Kennel Club banned registration of any dog ​​from such a cross. In the same year, the American Cairn Terrier Club became a member of the AKC.
