The animal is of average size when compared to other breeds of dogs. They are 50-60 cm long (bitches are slightly smaller), weight 13-19 kg. The wedge-shaped head seems a little too large relative to the body, but graceful. High skull with a developed occiput, flat and wide between the ears, tapering towards the nose. Black nostrils are open (in light-colored dogs, they are liver-colored). The powerful lower jaw is clearly visible. The lips cover the teeth. Scissor bite with full dentition.
