The ancestors of the American Hairless Terrier are Rat Terriers and Pied Piper. For the first time, this type of terrier was bred in Britain. The clever British used them on their farmlands as catchers for rats and foxes. The appearance of the animals was not something unacceptable for them, they primarily appreciated the dogs for their working abilities.
