It all started with a cross between a farm dog and a husky at Arthur Walden’s farm in New Hampshire. In the litter of reddish puppies born on January 17, 1917, there was a male, who grew up large-boned, eared and handsome, with a soft character. His name was Chinook, and he had puppies bearing his seal.
