Housing. In the reference German Pinscher, the outlines of the body tend to the square type. The topline, starting from the withers, is slightly sloping. The back is strong, well stretched, with a deep, shortened loin, which enhances the compactness of the appearance. The slightly rounded croup merges into the root of the tail; wide chest, oval in section, drooping almost to the elbows. The groin areas of standard pinschers are barely tucked up and form a gentle curve from the lower abdomen.
