A man named Michael Sottile imported the first Corso litter to the United States in 1988 and the second litter in 1989. In 1993, the International Cane Corso Association was created. In the end, the breed club gained recognition from the American Kennel Club, which was granted in 2010. The breed is currently managed by the American Cane Corso Association.
