The Norwegian Lundehund is a hunting dog breed originally from Norway. The main specialization of these dexterous animals was the catching of puffins – small birds that live in the rocks (their down and meat were highly valued in the northern regions of the country). Hence the name. Lundehund (Norwegian Lundehund) consists of two words: Lunde – “dead end” and hund – “dog”.
