The Lacy dog was named after the Lacy brothers – Frank, George, Evin, and Harry. The brothers moved from Kentucky to Texas in 1858, where they settled in the Hills and developed the breed to work with free-roaming vagrants. Historical documents indicate that Lacey is considered a mixture of greyhounds, hounds, and wolves
