The Berger Picard tribal herd was destroyed by the devastating effects of the First and Second World Wars. The population of this breed is concentrated on farms in northeastern France, and the trench wars on the Somme have left the breed almost extinct. The prevalence of the breed around the world remains limited, even in its home country
