New Zealand Shepherd Dog (New Zealand Huntaway), a breed of service (herding) dog. Bred in New Zealand in the 20th century. Its origin comes from English dogs taken to New Zealand, grazing flocks of sheep. As a result of selection work, a shepherd dog appeared, which, with the help of its loud barking, could control a flock of sheep – the dog moved behind the flock, urging it on with its voice. The breed is not recognized.
