In 1903, the Labrador Retriever was officially recognized as the oldest dog club in the world – English Kennel. This caused another surge of interest and led to the creation of several new nurseries. In 1916, the Labrador Retriever Club was founded, an organization that continues to this day, taking care of the purity of the lines.
