In 1902, an exhibition was held in the city of Ostermundigen, sponsored by this club. The show drew attention to local rock breeders from around the world. In 1904, at the International Dog Show in Bern, the club sponsored a class of Swiss shepherds – the Bernese Mountain Dog was also included in it. In the same year, the breed received the official status of the Swiss Kennel Club.
