Hungarian vizslas were twice threatened with extinction. First, in the XX century, when other dogs – pointers were imported to Hungary. Then – during the Great Patriotic War, when the Hungarians, freed from fascism, decided to exterminate the breed so that it would not spread in Russia. Everything worked out when dog handlers from other states joined the situation.
