FCI officially registered Amstaffs in its register under No. 286 in May 1971. The following year, the American Kennel Club changed the breed’s name to American Staffordshire Terrier, emphasizing that the branches have certain differences – the American is an average of 8 cm higher at the withers and 5 kg heavier than the “Englishman”.
