Corso is one of many mastiff type dogs. This one was developed in Italy and is said to have descended from the Roman fighting dogs. He has a lighter build than his cousin, the Neapolitan Mastiff, and was bred for game hunting, property protection and all-round housekeeping. Their job was to catch pigs or cattle and help get them to market.
