According to the main version, the Andalusian Hound is a descendant of the first domesticated dog – the Pharaoh Hound of Ancient Egypt, which came to the Iberian Peninsula thanks to the ubiquitous Phoenician traders and merchants. According to another version, the ancestors of the Andalusian Hound were representatives of an ancient breed from Africa – Basenji.
